Privacy Notice

Founding 500 (“the campaign,” “we,” “us”) is a pre-launch community-building campaign for a future local pickleball platform serving Taytay, Angono, Cainta, Antipolo, Binangonan, Pasig City, and surrounding Rizal Province towns. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you register as a Founding Player, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it, consistent with the intent of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

Information we collect

When you register, we collect:

• Name (first and last) — to identify your Founding Player profile.
• Email address — to confirm your registration and, only if you opt in separately, send you updates.
• Mobile number — to identify you and, in the future, allow us to reach you about local games (only if we build that feature and you consent to it).
• General geographic area — your municipality/city (e.g. “Taytay, Rizal”) and, optionally, a general barangay/neighborhood. We do not ask for or collect your exact home address, and nothing you submit is displayed publicly or shown on a map.
• Playing preferences — skill level, how often you play, preferred days and times, what you're looking for (games, players, Open Play, etc.), and your near-term intent to play.
• Referral information — if you were invited by another player, we record which Founding Player referred you, so we can credit their referral count and milestone badges.
• Consent and technical metadata — the timestamp you accepted these Terms and this Privacy Notice, your marketing opt-in choice, and the IP address and browser user-agent string active at the moment of registration (used only for basic fraud detection and audit purposes — never shown in your public profile).
• Attribution/analytics data — which link or channel brought you to the site (e.g. a Facebook post, a QR code, a referral link), which pages you viewed, and which buttons you clicked during registration. This is collected through our own first-party analytics event log, not third-party advertising trackers, and is tied to a random session identifier rather than a tracking cookie network.

Why we collect it

We use this information to: build your Founding Player profile; show you (and only you) your own registration status, referral count, and progress; understand aggregate demand for pickleball across different areas and time slots, so we know where and how to build the real platform; detect and prevent abuse of the referral system; and, only if you separately opt in, send you updates about the campaign and future local games.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising targeting outside of this campaign.

Consent and marketing opt-in

Accepting our Terms and this Privacy Notice is required to register — without it we cannot create your Founding Player profile. Marketing communications are a separate, optional checkbox during registration; leaving it unchecked means we will not send you promotional updates, though we may still need to contact you about your account itself (e.g. a data request you submit, per the rights section below).

Cookies and attribution

We use a session identifier (stored in your browser's session storage, not a long-lived tracking cookie) to link your visit to your eventual registration for attribution purposes — so we can tell, in aggregate, which channels (Facebook, Instagram, QR codes, referrals, organic search) bring real Founding Players. This identifier is cleared when you close your browser tab and is never linked to advertising networks.

Third-party infrastructure

Your data is stored and processed using the following infrastructure providers, each of whom processes it on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

• Supabase (database hosting and admin authentication) — data is stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database in a specific cloud region.
• Vercel (application hosting) — serves the website and processes requests; may log request metadata (IP address, timestamps) for operational purposes.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking pixels on this site.

Data retention

We retain your Founding Player data for as long as the campaign and, if launched, the resulting platform remain active, so that your Founding Player status and history are preserved. If the campaign is discontinued without a platform launching, we intend to delete campaign registration data within a reasonable period after that decision is made and communicated. You can request earlier deletion at any time — see “Your rights” below.

Security

Access to the admin dashboard that can view player details is restricted to authenticated, individually-named administrator accounts, and every admin action (viewing exports, editing notes, changing a player's status) is logged internally. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data but, as with any online service, cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Consistent with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

• Be informed that your personal data will be, are being, or have been processed (this notice).
• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion or withdrawal of your data from our system, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Object to further processing, including withdrawing marketing consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission if you believe your rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the mechanism below. We do not yet have a self-service data export or deletion tool in the product itself — requests are currently handled manually by an administrator.

Future features

We are building toward a future platform where Founding Players may be able to find nearby games, connect with other players, join Open Play, and eventually belong to multiple participating pickleball centers under one player identity (a “Pickleball Passport”). None of these features exist yet. If and when they launch, this notice will be updated to describe any new data collection or sharing they require, and, where required by law, we will seek fresh consent before enabling them for existing players.
